Build a light stand for plants: conventional seed starting light kits can be expensive and don't always fit in the space alotted. Use this plan for a custom made light stand.

Instructions

1 Lay one prefab bookshelf side on the floor and attach the bottom shelf with drywall screws. Lay the other end on the floor, attach the center shelf (see photo on page 50) to both sides, then the bottom, and add the remaining shelves.

2 Lay the unit flat. Cross measure from corner to corner to make sure the unit is square. Lay a 1 x 3 diagonally and mark in pencil approximately 9" from the ends. Set your saw at 3/4" depth and notch out both uprights. Align and mark the brace, then cut and attach it to your unit. This will be the back of your shelf.
