Coulda, woulda, shoulda. If only you'd listened to Grandma and stayed out of the sun. And now, years after your experiments with no-SPF tanning oil and aluminum-foil reflectors, your skin bears the shameful reminders of your fancy-free youth.
Fortunately, as awareness of the dangers of tanning has increased, so have advances in repairing sun damage that's already been done. A number of options, from new noninvasive lasers to spot-erasing creams, can help wipe away what those nasty rays left behind. Also in the pipeline are even more powerful treatments that, for example, help mend DNA that has been zapped by UV rays.
