Raytek is claiming a world first for its PhotoTemp MX6 instrument. This combines a non-contact infra-red thermometer with a digital camera in a single hand-held gun-type housing.
Temperature readings are taken together with a digital photograph that documents the exact measurement spot. Superimposed on the photograph is a caption recording temperature, date, time and other useful information. The camera includes built-in flash and focus functions while the thermometer has a measurement range extending from -50 to 900 degC.
