Heat reflection puts twin wall PC on greenhouse roofs. (Engineering Materials).

AN INNOVATIVE zig-zag structure has enabled double-walled polycarbonate sheet to be used for greenhouse roof glazing, giving the benefits of strength and thermal insulation without the light transmission loss that may be experienced with conventional twin wall sheet.

The Lexan ZigZag panel was developed by GE Structured Products Europe and IMAG, the Institute of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering. It maintains a light transmission level comparable to that of single glass because of the shape of the multiwall panel that reflects light back into the greenhouse.

As light transmission is not hampered -- and so there is no consequent reduction of plant growth -- ...
