CHICAGO — NOVEMBER 10, 2004 — HighBeam™ Research, Inc., operator of an online research engine for individuals (www.highbeam.com) that fills the gap between free search engines and high-end information services, today announced that Keith Powell has joined the company as vice president and chief technology officer.
Powell was previously senior manager for BearingPoint, Inc. (formerly KPMG Consulting). During his 11-year tenure at BearingPoint (NYSE: BE), he was project manager for the development and deployment of the recently updated online store for the National Football League (www.nflshop.com). He also led the creation of a program management office for Footlocker.com to assist in the re-branding and redeployment of their branded sites (Eastbay.com, Footlocker.com, LadyFootlocker.com, KidsFootlocker.com, Final-Score.com and Champssports.com) along with the other 11 sites that they manage. In addition, Powell was one of the lead architects and co-manager of the infrastructure team for the McDonald's Innovate project. Powell has also authored or co-authored more than 10 books on several of the popular Microsoft software tools and operating system products.
At HighBeam Research, Powell will be responsible for managing all technology functions and for the company's research and development efforts.
