Publication's Web site
The Washington Post is a Monday to Sunday morning newspaper owned and published by the The Washington Post Company. First published in 1877, the Post is headquartered in Washington, D.C.The Washington Post audience is educated and politically interested in national politics due to its political reporting. US readers are from 25 to 64 years old. Eighty-one percent of its readers have at least some college education and more than 50 percent have incomes higher than $75,000. The Post regions are... Washington, D.C. and its vicinities. It is "the paper" for political leaders. The Washington Post is famous for investigating and uncovering the truth behind the Watergate break-in in 1971, which brought about the resignation of President Richard Nixon in 1974. For that, the Post was awarded the Pulitizer Prize for Public Service in 1973. It is Washington, D.C.'s largest and oldest newspaper. It is well known for its political reporting coverage, keeping open bureaus in politcally important foreign cities, which a lot of other newspapers have ceased doing. The Washington Post has won prizes in all areas, including reporting, commentary, criticism, sports and photography. It has garnered over 46 Pulitzer prizes (receiving it's first in 1936). It has also been the recipient of the prestigious Worth Bingham Prize eight times. Marcus Brauchli is the Executive Editor. Raju Narisetti and Elizabeth Spayd are managaing editors; Fred Hiatt is the editorial page editor.Read more
