Artba- the American Road & Transportation Builders Association - recently held its annual convention at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Fla.

The convention opened with the ARTBA Chairman's Annual Report, presented by ARTBA Chairman Rich Wagman, chairman and CEO of G.A. and F.C. Wagman, Inc.

"We accomplished a great deal in this past year," Wagman said, citing first the significant increase in federal transportation funding. "Mission accomplished," he said. Wagman also noted the importance of continued work to ensure continued success in transportation funding in the future. Additionally, he underlined the importance of developing new young leaders in the construction industry.

The theme of this year's convention, "Managing With Eyes Wide Open: Understanding the Issues & Trends That Are Changing the Transportation Construction Business" - set the stage for a variety of special presentations and panel discussions. First up was general session opening speaker Dr. Gary Bradt. Bradt, who described change as "a challenge and an opportunity," shared a lively presentation focused on dealing with change and turning it to your advantage. …
