Marvells "ultra-low" power 90nm Wireless LAN (WLAN) single chip solution draws less than 400Mw. and comes in a small system footprint--less than 50m[m.sup.2]. The Marvell 88W8686 integrates an ARM compliant CPU. high speed serial host interfaces including SDIO and SPI to ensure interoperability with a variety of host systems, and advanced 802.11 a/b/g RF transceiver with full cellular coexistence. Targeted at a wide variety of consumer devices, including 3G+ and broadband handsets, the Marvell 88W8686 has full compliance for advanced communications standards including complete support for L3. TCP/IP, UMA and IMS. The device incorporates Marvell's thick MAC architecture and off loads the host CPU-resulting in lower power and increased system performance. …
