I looked forward to reviewing this book but, overall, the experience was a disappointment. The author tried to fit too much into one book and the effort seems basic in some areas and overly complicated in others. This book deserves a new title, perhaps "Introduction to the Microchip dsPIC," because sensors do not get as much coverage as the title promises. And the book does not cover "intelligent sensors;" the type that include some "smarts" within the sensor itself. Instead, it explains how to obtain useful information from standard thermocouples, load cells and flow-meters. …
