Walmart.com, the e-commerce arm of retail giant Wal-Mart, has launched an online college bookstore, offering students discounts of up to 30 percent on more than 300,000 titles, including textbooks, study guides and graduate school guides.

"We want students to think of WalMart for all their back-to-school needs, even college textbooks," said John Fleming, senior vice president of merchandising at Walmart.com. "And now at Walmart.com, students can order the books they need, knowing they're getting every day low prices from a brand they trust."

However, Walmart.com will face fierce competition in the $6.6 billion college textbook market from Barnesand noble.com, eFollett. …
