British Knights nails down M.C. Hammer

NEW YORK - British Knights confirmed last week it had finalized for an undisclosed amount a one-year celebrity endorsement contract with top rap artist M.C. Hammer, the first such agreement ever signed by the $138-million athletic footwear company.

A press conference was held here by British Knights, a division of Jack Schwartz Shoes Inc., today to announce the agreement.

"This has far transcended anything the company has ever done," said Larry Schwartz, executive vice president, who declined to disclose how much the company is paying Hammer to endorse its British Knights (BK) brand. "Let's just say the amount is commensurate with what anyone would pay a superstar. …
