Vice President Bush's senior media adviser, Roger Ailes, was clearly steamed when word leaked out that Bush was scheduled yesterday to be at the Potomac School in the affluent Washington suburb of McLean, Va., for some campaign filming.

"These leakers!" he told an inquiring reporter the night before the planned event. "I think they should all be executed and tortured."

The private school is one of the most prestigious in the Washington area, arguably not the optimal setting for a candidate who is trying to counter the image of a wealthy patrician who doesn't understand working people.

"So now the implication is," Ailes averred sarcastically, "that George Bush says, `I will only film with rich children. …
