Publication's Web site
The Chicago Sun-Times is a Monday to Sunday morning newspaper both owned and published by the Sun-Times Media Group. First published in 1948, the Sun-Times is headquartered in the heart of downtown Chicago, Ill.The Sun-Times' audience is diverse, with the bulk of the readers aged between 25 and 54 years old. Twenty-nine percent of Sun-Times readers have a household income of under $50,000, while 28 percent have a household income of over $100,000. The Sun-Times' regions include the US,... Illinois and Chicago. In 1978, the Sun-Times conducted the Mirage Tavern investigation, which involved undercover reporters operating a bar and photographing city officials taking bribes. In January of 2004, writer Tim Novak's investigation broke the Hired Truck Program scandal. After the Virginia Tech shootings in 2007, the Sun-Times erroneously printed the name of the suspect. After comments from the People's Republic of China criticized the paper for making “irresponsible reports,” the Sun-Times pulled the article with no apology or explanation. Donald Hayner is the Editor-in-Chief, John Barron is the Publisher, Andrew Herrmann is the Managing Editor, and Tom McNamee is the Editorial Page Editor.Read more
